Winners will be announced during the show, March 30, at the El Portal Theatre in the NoHo Arts District.  Free tickets to the festival will be available shortly.

Student filmmakers will have the opportunity to win a $500 scholarship sponsored by the Jack Oakie and Victoria Horne Oakie Charitable Foundation.  Winning filmmakers will also be treated to a special lunch hosted in their honor at CBS Studio Center with Studio President Michael L. Klausman and will receive an official commemoration from the city of Los Angeles.

Awards will be announced the night of the show, Don’t forget to like the LASMF Facebook page for the latest updates!

This year, the Jack Oakie and Victoria Horne Oakie Charitable Foundation is a proud partner of the Los Angeles Student Media Festival, and will present scholarships to qualifying students whose films are identified as the best in each category.

In order to receive a scholarship from the Jack Oakie and Victoria Horne Oakie Charitable Foundation, the applicant must view a movie featuring either one of the Oakies (click here for a complete list).  After viewing the movie, the applicant will write a brief essay about it and describe what contributions and/or changes they would have made if they served on the film's crew.
